6U

  • League nights: Tuesday/Thursday practice games (rotating dates)
  • Hitting off of a tee.
  • 6 weeks starting May 28 and ending the week of July 8.
  • There will be no practices/games the week of July 4.

8U

  • League Nights: Tuesday practice, Thursday game
  • Will attend a tournament on Saturday June 29.
  • 6 weeks starting May 28 and ending the week of July 8.

10U

  • League Nights: Monday practice, Wednesday double-header games
  • 6 weeks starting May 28 and ending the week of July 9.
  • Rochester Summer Heat tournament on June 8.
  • There will be no games or practices the week of July 4.
  • SFC tournament on July 19/20.
  • Coordinator: Joe Thompson.

12U

  • League Nights: Tuesday/Thursday practice or Game (1 night double headers other night practice)
  • 6 weeks starting May 27 and ending the week of July 19/20.
  • Rochester Summer Heat tournament on June 8.
  • No games or practices will be held the week of July 4.
  • SFC tournament on July 19/20.

14U

  • League Nights: Monday/Wednesday Games
  • Teams have the option to do one additional tournament (up to $350) and state (does not include gate fee).
  • 6 weeks starting May 28th and ending the week of July 8th.
  • Rochester Summer Heat tournament in June 8.
  • No games or practices will be held the week of July 4th.
  • SFC tournament July 13.

High school

  • Double header games on Thursday.
  • Practices based on coaches and player’s desire along with field availability.
  • No games or practices will be held the week of July 4.
  • Will participate in SFC tournament on July 14.
  • Coordinator: Holly Schmitz.

Tournament teams (10U & 12U)

This year we will be evaluating players and only take the top 13 to create the tournament team for 10U and 12U. If there are enough players, we will create two teams in each division.

Tournament team is in addition to rec league and is an extra $175. Players will play on their rec team for the league play and SFC tournament. Then they will play on a tournament team for five extra tournaments. If joining the tournament team, it is expected that the player will show up to the majority, if not all the tournaments.

  • Red Wing: June 20-22
  • Stewartville: June 27/28
  • MN State (Location TBD): July 12/13
  • Monsta tournament is a possiblity

General information 

Location

All Fall Ball games will be played the Rochester Youth Fastpitch Softball Complex, which is located at 827 36th Avenue SE, Rochester, MN.

Volunteers

We are a volunteer supported organization and the Association will communicate volunteer opportunities throughout the Fall Ball season. Summer families that have not completed their dib slot by end of Fall Ball season will be charged $150.

Coaches and communications

Each team will be assigned volunteer coaches including a head coach and assistant coaches. They will be your primary point of contact for the season and will be responsibile for communicating key details. Coaches will be received team rosters on August 9 and will communicate the schedule information as it becomes available.

Game times

Game times on Saturday and Sunday at the Rochester Softball Complex will be: 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 2:30 p.m. 3:45 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Inclement weather/no-shows

 In the case of bad weather, home team coaches will be responsible for making a decision on postponement and contacting the opposing coach no later than 4 p.m. on the day of the game. Teams will have a 15 minute grace period to arrive at the playing field. Teams who do not arrive within this grace period will forfeit the game. 

Rescheduling games

All make-up game dates and locations are to be agreed upon by the two head coaches. No games that are forfeited due to lack of players are eligible to be rescheduled.  

Suggested equipment

Each youth is suggested to have the following equipment for Fall Ball:

  • Fielding glove
  • Batting glove
  • Batting helmet with a mask (stamped NOCSAE)
  • Fielding mask
  • Bat (stamped with the USA or ASA logo)
  • Sliders
  • Plastic cleats are all youth younger than 14U
  • Black softball pants
  • Water bottles

Note: Each team will be issued basic equipment including batting helmets, bats, and catcher’s gear.
